Christina Snipe, Corporate HR Manager – Transitions
February 15, 2021
My name is Christina Snipe. I am a native of Savannah, GA and currently reside in Atlanta, GA. I was educated in the Chatham County School System. I earned my degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from South University and graduated Cum Laude.
I am not a newbie to the hospitality industry. I have worked in hospitality for over 21 years in various roles that include Accounting and Human Resources. My current role is Human Resources Manager – Transitions. In this role I oversee the HR process for any hotel transitioning into the Davidson portfolio.
My upbringing along with my experience in the hospitality industry cultivated my love for helping and supporting the community. During the years I have volunteered and participated in many community service activities which include partnering with local high schools and colleges in an effort to raise awareness of the various roles in the hospitality industry.
The events that occurred in 2020 created mixed emotions and challenges for many. From police brutality, to divisiveness, to a pandemic, our country was falling apart. At the height of protest happening around the country, John Belden began to ask various questions of what Davidson could be doing better to improve diversity and what kind of impact can we make in our community. This conversation impacted me even more and created a renewed enthusiasm for being a part of the Davidson family. John did not stop there. From the conversations had with myself and many others, a Diversity and Inclusion Council was created. Davidson sought out council members whom they believe are passionate about making a difference. As a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council I believe the main purpose is to ensure that Davidson works to build bridges and increase diversity not just within our leadership on down but also within our community. This includes developing programs to help communities in need, changing our recruitment practices, and developing programs that will showcase hospitality and all careers associated with it. I believe this will be accomplished through strategy, time, and with everyone working together.
